CASE STUDIES: PURCHASE PRICE ALLOCATIONS

ValuePoint was retained by a not-for-profit hospital system to assist with allocating the purchase price paid for another hospital organization. This project entailed a comprehensive analysis to identify and value the acquired intangible assets, which included items such as: the hospital’s license, a certificate of need, several trade names, an assembled workforce, non-competition agreements, and physician employment agreements. Although there are limited amounts of market transaction data available for healthcare related intangible assets, the professionals at ValuePoint were able to draw upon their industry experience and develop reliable methodologies for valuing the various intangible assets. Our analysis and report were accepted by the outside audit firm without comment.
